Gems are precious crystalline formations with inherent magical properties. They enable enchantments, fund elite unit equipment, and combine with Mineral in the Furnace to forge Mithril. Desert terrain provides +35% bonus from wind-exposed deposits, while Mountain terrain offers +25%. Dwarves gain +30% racial bonus. Meadow terrain lacks gem deposits entirely (-40%). Gems are relatively rare and should be reserved for high-value applications.
