Full Encyclopedia Entry ▼
Food represents the agricultural output of your empire - grains, vegetables, livestock, and preserved provisions that keep citizens and soldiers alive. Without adequate food production, populations starve, armies weaken, and cities fall into famine. Food is consumed by all population types (maintenance cost 1-5 per worker), with Harvesters being the primary producers (15 Food per tick). Meadows provide +35% food bonus, while Mountains and Deserts impose severe penalties (-35% and -45% respectively). Autumn is the harvest season (+20%) while Winter devastates production (-30%).
